Provides decent conditioning/de-tangling for fine hair,
This review is from: Pantene Pro-v Fine Hair Solutions Flat To Volume Conditioner, 12.6-ounce (Pack of 6) (Misc.)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
[Note: Although this product is supposed to come in a Pack of 6, I received only a a single conditioner through the Amazon Vine program.]I have fine, thin hair, so you would think that a conditioner labeled "Flat to Volume" would be perfect for me. In the past, however, I have found that most conditioners designed for fine hair actually do not condition my hair enough, leaving it difficult to comb through and sometimes even slightly dry (despite the fact that it can become oily if not washed daily). However, Pantene products tend to work well for me, so when they came out with this new conditioner, I decided to give it a try. I also purchased their new Pantene Pro-v Fine Hair Solutions Flat To Volume Shampoo, 12.6-ounce (Pack of 6) separately so I could use the products together as recommended. To begin with, I liked the scent of this product--in has a light, fresh, somewhat herbal-like fragrance which quickly dissipates after rinsing. The conditioner had a nice consistency, although it was not as thick as the previous Pantene conditioner I had been using (Pantene Pro-V Moisture Renewal Conditioner 25.4 fl oz (750 ml)). Given this, I felt that I needed to use quite a bit of product to fully work it through my shoulder-length hair. The conditioner left my hair de-tangled and fairly manageable. It seemed like my hair might also have a bit more body to it, but that could have been attributable to the Flat-to-Volume Shampoo as well as the other styling products I was using (I've also tried the Pantene Mousse Fine Volume, 6.6 Oz, which I like a lot). In addition, similar to the other conditioners I have tried for fine hair, I just didn't feel that I was getting quite enough conditioning from this product. The ends of my hair felt a little dry even though it is summer--how would this product perform in the winter? Also, I found that I was using A LOT of this conditioner to get satisfactory results; I went through about 3/4 of the bottle in just a few weeks (as opposed to only about 1/4 of the bottle of shampoo, which I started at the same time). So, although this was a decent conditioner and may work for others with fine hair, for me, I would give it about 3 1/2 stars. I think I will stick with the Pantene moisturizing conditioners, either Pantene Pro-V Moisture Renewal Conditioner 25.4 fl oz (750 ml), or Pantene Pro-V Nature Fusion Conditioner, Moisture Balance, 25.4-Ounce (Pack of 2), a newer product which I've also tried and liked.

This is a normal conditioner that I think a lot of people would use as an everyday addition to there hair maintainance. There is nothing truly special about it. The scent is very "right off the shelf of the drug-store". It smells like every other bottle of pantene to me, which is not necessarily a good or bad thing. It is what it is!The conditioner doesn't seem to phase my completely unruly, pin straight, fine yet dense hair. I have the strangest hair. Some days it feels very thick and voluminous and others it feels very flat and light. I want a conditioner that adds a nice density to my fine strands but doesn't cause my scalp to get oily after a few hours. This doesn't do the trick for me. I am also turned off by the fact that this is NOT sls free. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is the cheapest method for a company to get it's product lathering or textured a certain way and it is literaly the same stuff they use in car wash soaps and degreasing chemicals for car engines. In the same way as it dissolves the grease on the car engines, sodium lauryl sulfate also dissolves the oils on your skin, which can cause a drying effect, which in turn might cause an overproduction of oils, as is my case. It is also well documented that it denatures skin proteins, which causes not only irritation, but also allows environmental contaminants easier access to the lower, sensitive layers of the skin. Products with SLS are not only dangerous for the skin but they can also effect a person's hormones and lead to various forms of cancer. So, in the long run, it is better to invest the five bucks you would pay for a tube of this stuff and get something that is CLEARLY marked SLS-FREE. That said, for those less conscious or interested in the harm that SLS can cause...this conditioner will probably be a staple in your shower. It smells fresh and does it's job OK for that everyday-pantene price. It's not something I would ever buy or endorse though.

I have used this product for 3 days now, long enough for any conditioner to do what it is supposed to. The features of this conditioner are supposed to be as follows:*Volume conditioner contains ultra lightweight conditioning agents that adhere to fine hair, prepping limp strands for lasting volume *Micro-boosters help prepare the structure of fine hair to hold voluminous Styles all day *Gentle enough for color-treated or permed hair Description is "Pantene's unique volumizing system (Shampoo, Conditioner and Root Lifter Spray Gel) with micro-boosters preps fine hair's structure so you can create your volume Style. Now your flat hair looks full again with weightless body and shine." I have very very fine hair, so the promise of more volume was too good to pass up. I did not notice any more volume to my hair after using this product. I made sure to not use any other volumizing agents such as gel, or mousse to see exactly how my hair reacted to this conditioner. That said I also live in one of the most humid states in the USA so there is that. EDIT- THis product WRECKED my hair. Stripped it, dried it out, My hairdresser scolded me within an inch of my life for even trying this.

Sorry Pantene, nice try. No Way.,

I have been a faithful user of the Pantene Volume line for a very LONG time. They have discontinued that line in favor of this "new & improved" line. Well, in good faith I tried it for a couple weeks. SORRY PANTENE, THIS STUFF DOES **NOT** WORK. This "new" formula leaves my hair dull and super staticky and extremely flyaway...what a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. No volume, no shine, no manageability. My hair is very fine and sensitive, and I must say I settled on the Pantene Volume line after trying a LOT of others...from off the shelf to salon lines. Believe me...been there, done that. How incredibly stupid and short-sighted of Pantene to discontinue this line, and all the others. From a HUGE selection of speciality product lines, that showed they recognized that all hair types and conditions are not the same, and showed respect for consumers' preferences and choices, down to only 4 sub-standard choices...well. Even the new name shows lack of respect to their consumers. "Flat" indeed!! I will now have to stock up on my regular Volume favorites at premium prices from elsewhere and try and find something else that works when that runs out. I am super pissed! Just one more thing that I love, discontinued once again. Once I find a new product line that works, you may rest assured that I will NEVER buy another Pantene product ever again.

Makes hair shiny and wavy,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Pantene Pro-v Fine Hair Solutions Flat To Volume Conditioner is a great product. The conditioner detangles, smells great and also helps to add volume to fine hair. I have naturally curly fine hair, and I noticed an increase in the amount of curl and wave that I had after using Pantene Pro-v Fine Hair Solutions Flat To Volume Conditioner. Not a huge difference, but it did make my hair shiny, more curly and left it smelling great. Pantene Pro-v Fine Hair Solutions Flat To Volume Conditioner is a product I'll be using again and again.

I really like this conditioner, finding that it does exactly what it's supposed to do (how rare is that these days?. Pour a little into your palm, massage it into your hair and then use your fingers to sort of comb it from front to back a few times. Then rinse.I've found that it does indeed thicken my hair and that it leaves it easy to style. And the style stays in place all day. No heavy hair gel needed. Good stuff.

I wear my fine hair short and it usually looks as if I've stuck my finger in an electrical socket. It is fly away and hard to tame no matter what products I use, and I usually have to put some kind of gel on it to make it behave. After using Pantene Flat to Volume conditioner, however, my hair was easy to style and I didn't have to plaster it with gel to make the fly away ends behave. The conditioner has a fresh scent - not too strong, and it rinses out easily. I'll be purchasing more of this product in the future.

Volume Without Extra Weight?,
By
This review is from: Pantene Pro-v Fine Hair Solutions Flat To Volume Conditioner, 12.6-ounce (Pack of 6) (Misc.)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Amazon Vine was kind enough to send me a bottle of this conditioner to try. Here's my take on Pantene's Pro-v Fine Hair Solutions:PROS: This is a nice conditioner that truly works without adding extra weight. Many conditioners flatten my hair with extra weight, so I'm happy to find a conditioner that works without this problem. CONS: I cannot tell any difference in the volume of my hair (I've used the product only twice). Admittedly, my hair may not be as fine as the manufacturer intends, so I may not be the best test subject for this product. OVERALL: I will continue to use this conditioner because it avoids the problem of extra weight. The added volume may (or may not) kick in after more usage. Should that happen, I will update this review. Four stars.

The bottle is made of a sturdy, flexible plastic, and is configured to stand upside-down. In other words, the bottle is configured to stand on its cap. The cap provides a broad base. Therefore, the user will not need to devote any time to shaking and whatnot, when it is time to put a dispense a gob of conditioner. The fragrance is like a combination of mango and vanilla. The color of the conditioner is white. After washing my hair with a bar of DIAL SOAP, as I have done every day for the past 25 years, I used this conditioner according to the instructions. After I let my hair dry naturally, it seemed that my hair was somewhat softer and somewhat fluffier. I am not sure what is the purpose of conditioner. Anyway, I used the product and that was that.
