Booba is back! but with less power than Temps Mort, July 9, 2004
This review is from: Pantheon (Audio CD)
Yes, he is finaly back, after more than 2 years since his 1st solo effort (Temps Mort), booba strikes back again with his violent and fierce sound. first, let's get this out of the way, this album is not as good as Temps Mort, which according to my books is a classic; one of the best french rap albums ever. i was upset that he left Lunatic and 45Scientific (because of money/contract reasons) since i thought the production/beats there were great and fit his style to perfection. but lets not dwell on the past, he is here, and back with vengeance. if you understand french you should realy hear this one, its dope. dope lyrics once again, great beats, although not as good as previous ones. i did notice one thing that distinguished this album from previous ones, in that his flow is faster and the production is closer to U.S. styles. My Favorite tracks in this album are: Le Mal Par le Mal, Commis Doffice, Hors Season, Baby, Avant de Partir.
Bref, If you are a booba fan then you should have this one, after all this wait, you cant miss this. however, don't expect the same quality (in beats especially) as in Mauvais Oeil and Temps Mort.

I doesn't matter that I haven't even listened to his work(Booba).I know he's dope every since they(Lunatic:Ali & Booba)just put up one single that changed the whole French Rap "Game".Booba "a la voix grave sur un beat sinistre"!The single then was "Seul le Crime paie" meaning Only crime pays.I'm not fond of gangsta rap and all but depending on how wordz are carefully put and artistically chosen I 'll definitely give it a try.I knew then they will blow up even though the single came out while they were in jail(that didn't stop their shine!).I like to compare that single"Seul le crime paie" to the Mobb Deep hit"Shook one".
