This review is from: The Pantheon of Uruk During the Neo-Babylonian Period (Cuneiform Monographs) (Hardcover)
The book is based on study of thousands of tablets from Eanna temple archive, taking as its subject the pantheon of the city Uruk during the Neo Babylonian period.
This book is impressive with detailed information about major deities of Uruk(Istar,Nanaya,Usur Amassu,Beltu Sa Res) and minor goddesses and gods and details about : Ornaments ,offerings, Prebends, Cultic Personnel, Ceremonies. Each deity is traced back from Sumerian period to Neo Babylonian period with help of Sumerian and Akkadian archives. This is highly recommended for readers with special interest in Mesopotamian history. |
