I've had this hat for about a year. I use it when I go out to my woodshed for firewood. I take it camping. It's at least as good or better then a headlamp for most purposes,especially outside. I have not had to change the batteries yet but they are common and available everywhere.

I am a newspaper dealer and employ many carriers on nighttime routes, often into rural areas where the addresses are not visible, are worn away or missing. This handy cap saves time (and money) in searching for the location. It is not as obtrusive/menacing as a flashlight. It is also good for quickly reading a delivery list without lighting up the entire vehicle and losing night vision. I would recommend a red color LED for frequent reading while driving.
This is a quality material hat, not plastic, with or without the lights.

I'm not sure how long the batteries will last but these two white LEDs are extremely bright and it's very useful when you'd otherwise need someone to hold a flashlight for you... might be too bright to read a book in the bedroom or something but fine for a plane- although I'm sure it will raise some eyebrows when going through security.

Hat is of good quality and the product works as described.

I recently purchased two of these for the "Cool" factor.

The hat is oddly well made, the material is cotton, low-profile and overall feels durable.

The bill seems to be made of a rather thick plastic of some kind.

Light output is PHENOMENAL!

I'm estimating a 50' view distance facing forward, with a 180 degree area extending 12' to the front of the wearer in total darkness. As good or better than your average flashlight.

A small label lists the batteries at 75 hour maximum runtime, which, if it's even half that I would be very impressed.

The light switch seems rather durable, and the fixtures containing the LED's are solid. Switch has three on "states" Two Bulbs, Spotlight, all bulbs.

The only "issue" (and a minor one) is that the battery holder is about the size of a box of tic-tacs, which fits rather strangely inside the rim of the hat.

If you're lazy and want a flashlight that'll run forever, and is totally hands free I don't think there is a better product on Amazon.

I bought this hat for my boyfriend. He loved it! He will use it when working on his truck, for camping and walking the dog at night.
Fits very comfortable and when the hat is turned off you really cant see the LED lights because they are so small.

The hat is a comfortable fit and has two settings that make it easy to see up close as well as out in front. No head bobbing to try and find the proper spot for the light!

was kind of a joke gift, but has turned out to be quite useful to see in tight places :-)

A friend brought a Panther Vision back to the UK after a trip to Canada. They are difficult to get in this country, unless one is prepared to pay a premium, so I had them sent via a friend in the US, ordering through Amazon.com. Although pleased with the hat - they're too simple not to be - I didn't get the colour I ordered. Instead of black I was sent a camo green. As they're are worn mostly in the dark, this isn't too much of a concern but I ordered 8 units and would have expected someone to check the colour option selected. There was no note of explanation. Still, a great product and a good service.

We love this hat! It was a gift and it came in handy only two hours after recieving it when our trunk light went out. My husband put it on and could easly unload the many other gifts in our trunk. Now, I keep it in my closet and use it when getting dresses in the wee hours of the morning so I don't wake my husband.It beets getting ready in the dark! We ended up getting one for some mechanics in the family too since they were drooling over ours. They intend to use it under the hood.

The lights are a little different from the pic. it works well, but requires more button presses than convenient when busy(three to be at full power).
