The Spyder divides emitted light into more wavelength bands than conventional colorimeters that only offer three filters enabling it to more effectively describe the industry-standard tristimulus matching curves--the end result--a more accurate calibration.
• Optimized for both CRT and LCD usage. The Spyder's novel honey-comb baffle for LCD calibration provides the Spyder with two light paths--one optimized for CRT's and the other for LCD's. Therefore calibration accuracy is maintained for both LCD and CRT usage unlike conventional colorimeters that optimize for one monitor type at the expense of the other.
• Wide choice of gamma and color temperature targets. OptiCAL does not lock you into arbitrary gamma or color temperature settings, enabling you to adjust your monitor output to your personal creative preference or a third-party standard.

You just need to get this. It is that simple. It's inexpensive, easy to use, and produces amazing results. Your printer can only print what is given to it....and if you edit on your monitor and you think the green is green...and the blues are blue...and its not calibrated....there is no telling WHAT your gonna get out of your printer.

Think of it this way....it gets your montitor and your printer talking in basicly the same language...so what you see is what you print.

Or continue to pull your hair out...lol.

Good investment of very little money.
