This covers album is a glorious thing! The band brings a newfound energy and consistency to some of the songs, particularly "Underneath It All" and "Beautiful." The versions of "Mickey" and "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" keep intact the qualities that originally made them fun. Not all of the covers are exceptional, but none of them are bad, either, making this quite an engaging affair from start to finish. The band had fun with these songs, injected humor into them without completely mocking them, which is a credit to them.
Ah, maybe one day Zebrahead will FINALLY get their due. This band has worked tirelessly for over a decade now, and if you are a fan of punk-pop, power-pop, or rap-rock, you really should give this band a try. Their catalog is full of well-constructed albums, and they put on one heck of a live show.
