If you're in love with first person shooters, and dazzling graphics, this wouldn't be for you. But I was very much in love with Panzer General back in the 90s. This is the inheritor of that game's beauty for me. It's a hex game with representations of the units, and you can fight from Poland, to Norway, the west, maybe invade England, or Greece, and the Russian front. You could even invade the U.S. No North Africa, unless you were to build it. This is a great game.

It's not often an old game like Panzer General gets revived at all, let alone successfully. The developers at Lordz / Slitherine did a great job. If you're into turn based strategy games, this is for you. If you have played Panzer General before, you will love this game.

Great game and worthy successor to Panzer General series. But the price a little too high, if you are only getting the Original game, without its expansions (every expansion is priced at $4.99 each).
If interested, you could check out the game Publisher site here: www*slitherine*com (substitute . for *)

Just like everyone else said, it's just like PG2, which I loved so much. It is great to finally get to play this type of strategy game once again. I bought it online last night and I played every bit of 7 hours straight. The AI is better than PG2. I swept through Poland only to be stopped just short of taking France in the allotted time.
I don't think this game has the "overrun" attack that PG2 had, and that was rather sad. To add to the realism, whatever you END a battle with, is what you have to START with. If you want veteran replacements, it'll cost you. I don't think the artillery is as effective in this game as the original PG2.
Overall, a very fun hex based strategy game.
It's too bad you have to buy the expansion packs vs. one MEGA game all wrapped in one.

I bought a new computer with Windows 8.1 operating system. I am a old player of the PG series and this looked great. Unfortunately, the disk would not run on Windows 8.1. The computer keeps spitting the disk out as unreadable. Tried it on my wife's computer, with Windows 7, and the disk functioned. The seller has been great in trying to resolve the issue. He is sending another copy, I will update the review when it comes in.

I've been involved with wargaming for a long time. I'm going to date myself by mentioning that I bought and played Avalon Hill's Kriegspiel game. As someone who loved the Panzer General series because sometimes a good "beer and pretzel" game is just what you need, I was really looking forward to the Panzer Corps game. Having played it for awhile, it just doesn't match up in my opinion to PG. As has been mentioned, the artillery doesn't pack quite the punch in Panzer Corps. Of course, you don't play games like this expecting the "realism" or drudgery (your choice) of games intended for "grognards" like those made by Gary Grigsby. However, when you seriously weaken the value of a key player on the battlefield, it takes away for me some of the fun of playing these games. However, Panzer General and Steel Panthers are old games and I can't play them on my PC any longer and we always remember fondly things from our youth. Panzer Corps is today's Panzer General and I think that people who enjoy a quick and fun game will enjoy it.

This is simple enough to pick up quickly and difficult enough to keep you engaged for hours. The only complaints I have with it would in the end ruin the simple side of it. You do not have to protect supply lines. The games I have played were you have to protect your supply lines get bogged down quickly with to much detail. This hits the right balance I feel.

After playing PGII for many years I found Panzer Corps similar. Unlike PGII Panzer Corps is a little more true to real life situations; e.g. aircraft running out of fuel, lower unit rating after adding new replacement members to a unit or paying a higher rate for adding, what the game calls, Elite Replacements. When I played PGII I had always wanted to play from the beginning of the war to its final completion with the same corp units but was unable to find anyone who had made this possible; however, with Panzer Corps the company has made this possible, either with expansion games or by purchasing Panzer Corps Grand Campaign 1935-1945. Which I did of course, as well as their Afrika Korps. Game on.
