This is an excellent book and companion to "Germany's Panther Tank". As an armor model builder I found the details to be very helpful in my quest for greater detail for the "Ausf. G" variant I am modeling in 1/5 scale.

I am building a full size steel replica of a Panther A turret to be emplaced on a bunker. I used books 5-1 to 5-3 and 21-2 (these are the D,A,G, and Panther bunker books). I used these to supplement my actual measurements. These were absolutely perfect because they lay out EXACTLY what production changes were made and exactly when. This enabled me to pick the exact features I wanted and the corresponding date. That prevented me from having say, the wrong ventilation fan cover with sight apertures from a later model. If you want to know the nuts and bolts of building a Panther, THIS IS YOUR GUIDE. It is very technically oriented. If you want to read battle stories and see action photos get something else. For my purposes it was perfect!
