This is the third of four volumes which trace the history of the later Crusades and papal relations with the Levant from the accession of Innocent III (in 1198) to the reign of Pius V and the battle of Lepanto (1566-1571). From the mid-fourteenth century to the conclusion of his work, the author has drawn heavily upon unpublished materials, collected in the course of more than twenty "palaeographical journeys" to the Archivio Segreto Vaticano and the Archivi di Stato in Venice, Mantua, Modena, Milan, Siena, Florence, and the Archives of the Order of the Hospitallers at Malta. I attempted to order what's listed above: "The Papacy and the Levant (Volume III: the Sixteenth Century)" in Hardcover. What came instead was only part of Volume III - and that was in Softcover.

Amazon staff said that the webpage was inaccurate - and they'd get it fixed. Its now been over a month - and still the incorrect information remains.

Be warned that if you order what's listed above, you won't get it.

I was very interested to get this book in hardcover, as the webpage describes. It is an oversized heavy book, that will not survive reading in a glue-back "on-demand" xerox format--- which is all I could get.

Several sellers who included "hardcover" in their desciption sent me the glue-back book, including amazon. I contacted the various sellers, and most stated that they were unable confirm whether it was hardcover.
