5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant pack
I recently attended a family wedding and during a quiet time during the meal this pack was produced and it was a wow! Every one could make one and wizz it around the room. And then there were lots more to build and fly. Fortunately some people had scissors or penknives as some planes needed cutting. Lots of different shapes.
A wonderful activity for any party! Oh...

3.0 out of 5 stars Possibly 365 planes who don't fly too well
The concept is cool, and the planes easy to make (required tool: scissors) - but very hard to glide/fly.

Our seven year old has considerable experience in making paper planes and miniature planes (we recommend the Klutz book), and has dubbed this product his "Tiny plane a day who doesn't fly" calendar. I should add that doesn't prevent him from continuing to...

5.0 out of 5 stars 365 tiny Paper Airplanes Page a Day Calendar 2007, February 22, 2007

This is a fabulous gift for age 5 and up. Each page can quickly be made into a tiny paper air plane with just a few folds. My five grandsons love to make them, line them up, and fly them. Younger kids need a litte instruction about the dot and dash lines and that's all. Marvelous idea.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice gift, January 9, 2007

The calendar is a great gift idea, and the colors for each plane are very cool. However, the directions for folding the paper airplanes are a little complicated for a 1st grader. It will take a little help from a parent to get started.

5.0 out of 5 stars My son couldn't get enough of this collection!, February 7, 2010
This collection is fantastic, and our child of ten couldn't get enough of it! What separates this paper airplane kit from others most is its compact size and its terrific organization. The fold lines for each airplane (or helicopter, or satellite model) are printed right on each calendar page, so you can never LOSE the directions, and they are relatively easy to follow. There are about 12 designs which repeat over the course of the year. Each day of the calendar is also a removable page which folds into one of the models, and each day has it's own unique paper design.

There are two models which may prove a little frustrating for a child of this age, and parents may have to step in and offer guidance on these the first time they are tried.. Luckily, however, some of the simplest planes fly the most beautifully, and if you screw up on one model, you'll get several more chances to retry it.

Caveat: There is one plane which has a fold which requires a little paper folding experience to understand at first, and two planes which involve taping or glueing on a wing that don't quite work as well as the planes that don't require this extra step.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get the inner kid out!, January 18, 2007
Do you have a very grown up engineer/scientist/researcher/... in your family, the kind of well respected eminence that is always reasonable, decent, and well-behaved? You want to see this person's eyes sparkle with mischief and look like a 5-year old with a new toy? Get this calender! It won't take long and you will see tiny colored paper airplanes fly around even the most venerable office spaces. And if there is more then one person in that office, they will fight every morning about who gets the calender sheet of the day to fold.

Every calender sheet is printed with folding/cutting lines and an airplane design that reach from NASA Spaceshuttle, over fiercely colored thunderbird to psychedelic patterns. There are about 30 different types of airplanes, for each of which you get detailed folding instructions. They reach from very simple paper airplanes to quite complex to pretty strange ones (there is a round one that does not look like a plane at all).

The best toys are still the most simple ones. I love this calender, the person I gave it to loves it, and everybody who sees it but doesn't have it, is envious. Trust me, next year I will get a whole bunch of them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product!, January 22, 2008
Overall great product. Most of the planes fly pretty well if you can figure out how to adjust the wings. Some are definitely easier than others. More of a "big-kid" toy as some of the planes are fairly difficult to make. Great for the office desk.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another good entry in the Page-A-Day series, January 7, 2008
By
HaloJonesFan (San Jose, CA, USA) - See all my reviews
2008's edition of the Page-A-Day "365 Tiny Paper Airplanes" calendar moves to a larger format than previous years. This is good, because it makes the airplanes a bit easier to fly; they are less sensitive to errors in folding or handling. Workman Publishing also seems to have upgraded their printing presses, because the registration of the fold pattern on the calendar pages is much better (following the marked-out folds will no longer result in a lopsided aircraft.) This version of the calendar also has the pages as individual leaves, rather than being glued to a backing (which often led to torn edges when the page was removed.) However, each page has a margin at the top that must be cut off; it's a bit unfortunate that the calendar now requires tools, but a pair of scissors shouldn't be too hard to come by.

As always, I'm looking forward to constructing my air force for the year-end recreation of the Battle Of Britain!

Santa brought this calendar to my 8-yr old son and the models are simple enough and the directions clear enough that he has successfully completed most of the 12 for the year so far. It's a nicely done, coloful page-a-day calendarl.

5.0 out of 5 stars 365 Tiny Paper Airplanes Page-A-Day Calendar 2007, January 11, 2007
I bought two of these calendars...one for my oldest son who has 4 yr old twin boys and the other for my future son-in-law who is an Air Force pilot; they all loved receiving them as Christmas gifts!

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best gifts we gave our kids!, January 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We gave this to our kids this Christmas as a stocking stuffer, and I had no idea how much of a hit it would become. Every day, before breakfast, they run down to create the new airplane of the day! Of course, I have to help with the folding as some of the models are a bit difficult, but overall, we are very happy with this purchase.

One thing I need to mention however, I don't think we've managed to make ANY of our airplanes actually fly (and we've made 21 so far). Yes, you heard me correctly! We are VERY careful to follow the directions, which aren't hard, by the way. But even if none of them end up flying well, we still will love this calendar and most likely buy another one next year .. it's just so fun putting them together each day!

What a great gift that you can buy for one event (like Christmas) and have it last every day for the entire next year! I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
