Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

'Tis the season to fashion cards, garlands, and other decorative home accessories as gifts from the heart. Yet, says designer Foose, any of the four seasons is ripe for the crafting, whether it's a hugs-and-kisses card or a witch-hat cornucopia. As to be expected from an artisan who counts Hallmark and major consumer magazines as clients, the 49 designs are simple, streamlined, and elegantly easy to craft. The front section is a no-nonsense introduction to materials, tools, and techniques, a conversational chat about the virtues of using wallpaper samples and the how-to's of determining the grain. What follows is the real treat (no tricks!): projects with concise directions, illustrations (when necessary), and color photographs. Unfortunately, actual templates are grouped in the back of the book, though exact page references are incorporated in the text. Barbara Jacobs

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of Paper for All Seasons, April 8, 2008
This review is from: Paper for All Seasons: Projects and Presents to Make Through the Year (Paperback)
I love this author's books. The designs in the book are clever and eye-catching. The instructions are detailed and clear. I would not recommend this book for a beginning papercrafter, though. The projects require a degree of experience in shaping, cutting and folding paper. This is a book for anyone looking for a challenge. I have, however, made many of these projects and have been delighted with the results. I consider myself an advanced, but not expert, papercrafter and did not have much difficulty finishing the projects. The designs, while challenging, are well worth trying. The wonderful projects, when finished, will inspire you to stretch your papercrafting skills.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful projects with clear instructions, August 20, 2007

I was delighted to find this book. The projects are lovely with clear instructions and full-size templates. Since I enjoy paper I constantly check new books and find many are so similar with few new ideas. This one is different. It is not designed just for children or "crafty" adults. It shows paper can really be an inspiring art form and fun, too. The projects are themed for the seasons but can be used for many other themes with a simple change of paper.

This review is from: Paper for All Seasons: Projects and Presents to Make Through the Year (Paperback)
This book is more for a parent and a child. Something cute to work on at the kitchen table.
What you see on the front cover, is all they show you. The book looks like it should be so much more. Plus I was fooled by the price of this book. Way over priced.
I wasn't happy with his purchase. Sorry
