This review is from: Paper Art Workshop: Celebrating Baby: Personalized Projects for Moms, Memories, and Gear (Paperback)
i really want to rate this book higher. it is a visually beautiful collection of projects. it's a high-quality book. but there are a couple of problems.
1. the projects are not easy to do unless you have a pre-existing background in paperarts; 2. the projects definitely require materials that are going to be very expensive when all that is necessary is collected up; 3. the projects aren't uniformly all that practical... for example, there's one for making a diaper-changing "bag" type-thing that any new parent will tell you is totally impractical. decorative paper simply doesn't belong anywhere near something that's going to be used for that purpose... and it's all too fragile. so, good book to leaf through... not a place to find simple/inexpensive/or necessarily practical projects. i'd like to see the authors write another book that is more geared to those needs. |
