I bought this for a friend's birthday. She is an aerospace engineering student, pretty passionate about spacecraft. In short, she just loved it! I have not been through the content, so I did not (and probably could not) check the accuracy but it made a very fun gift.

This is a wonderful mini chronology of Space Exploration; the illustrations of how rockets and sattelites are built and how they work are amazing, and the pictures are interesting and well selected. The models are small, and can be frustrating if the modeler has little or no experience with paper models, but they build up into a really cool little history of space exploration from Sputnick to the International Space Station. They'd be perfect for a mobile or two. [...]

This is a great book for the boys of any age who is interested in airplanes. A lot of information/ comparison of different models by the speed, market price, many other features- it is hard to find somewhere else. Delivery was very fast. Very satisfied with purchase.

A Timely Publication,
This review is from: Paper Astronaut: The Paper Spacecraft Mission Manual (Paperback)
This book is timely since there's a renewed interest in space and planetary explorations. It gives a very good idea of the brief history of space technologies since sputnik. Both Buzz Aldrin's and Julietter Cezzar's forewords are well written and informative. They arouse the dormant tendencies for the awe and admiration of the space missions and the astronauts who were luck enough to be part of it. Now, with budgeting constraints, the future space missions are in jeopardy. This book does something to keep hope alive ---so to say. Have fun with construction of all those wonderful gadgets and widgets. |
