My follow up to "Paper Blossoms - A Book of Beautiful Bouquets for the Table" is "Paper Blossoms, Butterflies, and Birds." This is an opportunity to have a "fresh" selection of arrangements handy for display! This new book takes the arrangements a step further by incorporating some of the flowers or other details that people have asked for.
The original "Paper Blossoms - A Book of Beautiful Bouquets for the Table." is still available and continues to "blossom" in other countries! This unique book features 5 elaborate flower arrangements designed to be kept open for display on your coffee table or other surface. Also available, "The Castaway Pirates" a pop-up tale of "Bad Luck, Sharp Teeth and Stinky Toes!" See what happens when a crew of hapless pirates find themselves adrift after losing their ship. This book is wonderfully illustrated by Wilson Swain.
I became fascinated with pop-up books back in 1979 whilst working as an art director in a London advertising agency. I contacted my illustrator friend Korky Paul and asked him if he would be interested in working on a pop-up book with me. Fortunately he said yes. That book, The Crocodile and the Dumpertruck was the first of 24 interactive books for children that I designed between then and 1990.
I took a "short break" from pop-ups between 1991 and 2005 running my own graphic design business. It was only a matter of time before my family convinced me to return to pop-up books and so after some brain-storming and distractions the Castaway Pirates appeared.

You'll see five exquisite, widely varied bouquets and arrangements that you can flip through, or--by employing the elastic cloth bands on the front and back covers to hold the pages open--actually place in a room as an arrangement, or as a beautiful paper sculpture. And the carefully combined color choices in each "Book-ay" guarantee that you'll find colors you will want to display.
And because the blossoms are printed on beautiful heavy card stock, you'll enjoy "playing" with it too! In fact, the perfect pictures on the back cover invite you to open the tiger lilies, to arrange the plumes of the bird of paradise, and to fan open the petals of the iris. (Just raise the lower back petals and the iris blooms!) You'll feel like Mom and Daddy Nature!
I think this may be the surprise gift of the year. (Yes, I did buy six.) Surprise! Love ya! Enjoy!
There are five gorgeous pop-up bouquets in this book, true masterpieces and a reflection of quality paper engineering. There is a bouquet of spring flowers; an array of bright, tropical flowers; a floating lotus garden; a vase of lilies in vivid hues; and, a delightful bunch of roses. The colors are in turns vibrant and muted, and the paper engineering is amazing. The book can be opened to any one of the bouquets and set upon a desk or any even top to be displayed as a beautiful arrangement. I intend on getting one for myself and giving many more to friends as gifts!
I really hope that there will be other decoration pop-up books like this one.

I have given this book as a gift a number of times and everyone has loved it.Published 2 months ago by Peter
They are really pretty. I expected to be able to put them singularly on a table. They are in a book with straps that open to hold it. But the flowers are really well done.Published 2 months ago by Elizabeth Moffitt
