This is perfect for what I needed it for. Just to quick trim some self printed photos for personel use. When I don't need it I just store it away in the closet, and it takes up no room at all.

The bar which holds down the paper (by the blade) is very handy for keeping paper in place at the moment of cutting it. I like the large cutting board. I wish it were a bit heavier overall (I like the old wooden ones for stability). But it's a good deal. I was surprised to find that the "blade" really isn't a blade but just a bar of metal (rectangular); however, it still seems to cut against the edge of the board. It doesn't cut through more than one layer of heavy chipboard though. And the paper edge isn't always a clean cut when the blade's about 2/3's of the way down-- depends on type of paper/plastic and thickness. But for now, it works for my needs.

This paper cutter is okay for it's price. It's the size I need to get the job done.
Don't use the guide if you want it to be cut accurately though. Mine sits at an angle not lined up with the grid so it cuts crooked. Also I like the idea of the extra hand effect
but the holder arm should not obscure the edge so I can't see when making trim cuts.- and it would help if it wasn't attached to the blade.

I bought this for my daughter who is a graphic designer and frequently creates decals for her customers for business signs, car/truck doors, etc. She was always complaining of having to cut her decals with scissors and trying to get clean straight cuts. So, I had this sent to her house.

She says it works great for her decals. Cuts nice, clean, straight lines and she loves it. I can't say anything about cutting paper or other things, but for her decal work, it appears to be a perfect solution.

Overall, I like this paper cutter. It seems to be pretty sturdy, and it makes nice clean cuts. I've been using it primarily for thicker photo paper on large prints (hence why I purchased such a large paper cutter). My only complaint is that it seems to not cut perfect right angles. My printer was a lot more expensive than this paper cutter, and I'm fairly certain that my photos and my photo paper are printed and cut at precise right angles, yet when I line up the edge of my paper at the top, the printed edge of my photos never line up with the cutting edge of this paper cutter. It's not horrible since I can just turn it and align it properly, but it is a bit of a pain.

For the money, you cannot beat this item! I like the guidelines on the guillotine and I like the large size for cutting. Blade is sharp and has no problems going through 80lb card stock. Only downside is that most of the measurements are metric instead of inches, but that could be a plus for some. The top line is in inches. It is made of metal so I can use a sharpie to make my own guidelines on the unit. Best bang for the buck, in my opinion. This item does come in a plain, cardboard box that lets you know it is made in China. Also, there are no instructions that come with it nor any paperwork letting you know replacement parts are available. My guillotines get heavy usage, so only time will tell how long it lasts.

This paper cutter actually doesn't cut with a blade, just the handle itself. I was confused when I first opened it, but then I tried it and it works! Pretty cool! Stays sharp too. Makes it safer and lighter.
