The Total Package !!,
This review is from: Paper Doll (Paperback)
Karen Whitaker always dreamed of being rich and famous as a young girl. She wanted the fancy cars and a house on a hill for her mother. Now a grown woman, Karen's little girl materialistic dreams become a dangerous obsession with money, sex, and power. Karen now has the beauty and brains to get what she wants no matter what the cost. She doesn't care whose toes she has to step on in order to get to the top. But Karen's thirst for the high life may be the death of her when some questionable situations are brought to light that may destroy her career and her relationship with a multi-millionaire. Karen also needs to deal with a shocking revelation from her past that will turn her world upside down. Will Karen come out of all this drama unscathed or will she hit rock bottom?
Paper Doll is an electrifying page-turner by Nicolette. Nicolette brings readers in head first into the fast world of Karen Whitaker. This author does an excellent job of character development when creating Karen. On one hand, you love her for trying to make sure she never gets the short end of the stick in life by going to college and having a stable, professional career. On the other hand, you hate her for her ghetto, risky, money-hungry mentality. These two very different sides are what make Karen such a wonderful character. Readers will find several unique, jaw dropping twists that will keep you glued to the pages until the very end. This novel wouldn't be complete without a good helping of mind blowing sex scenes. The hard lesson in this story is that what goes around comes around. From the book cover, the storyline, and the characters, Paper Doll is the total package. This novel is hot, tantalizing with the right amount of drama, sex, and street grittiness that will leave you highly anticipating a sequel. With Paper Doll, Nicolette proves that she has what it takes to make it in the literary industry. Reviewed by Radiah Hubbert for Urban Reviews

Worthy Debut,

It's killing me not to be able to share, word for word, what occurred in "Paper Doll". LOL It's an excellent read. The main character, "Karen" or "Kay" reminds me of Winter Santiago (The Coldest Winter Ever). The comparison is not to say that the author has "copied" anyone's style. I feel that Nicolette is in a class all of her own. In "Paper Doll", there's plenty of drama and more twists and turns than a roller coaster. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. In my opinion, "Paper Doll" is a debut worthy of admiration. I look forward to reading Nicolette's upcoming work.

In this breathe taking novel we are introduce to Karen/Kay a chick that is all about money and willing to play on anyone feelings just to get what she wants. She has Andrea and All-Star basketball player that is taking care of her financially but sexually he has nothing to offer her. She finally meets a man she thinks has her best interest at heart but he too is hiding a secret that will crush Karen/Kay once she finds out. When the table starts to turn and she thinks she has her new beau wrap around her finger and the secret that has been lingering in the air has surface. She moves on to something better which is Gregory a business man with lots of money. But her world comes crashing down when her lies and deceitfulness come around slap her dead in the face. She looses everything she so desperately every wanted.
Nicolette did a wonderful job in this novel. She showed you how greed and wanting to always be on top can be the down fall in anyone's life. Well done 4stars By: Beautiful One

Paper Doll was very good. Definitely a page turner!! The author brought the characters to life and gave them real personalities you could relate to. The author has such creative plots in this book that left me shocked at the outcome. I love it when a book has me on the edge of my seat!!!! I can not wait for the follow up to this book!! I can't take it I need it now!!! I have to find out what happens to Kay, Andre, Kay's Sister etc. etc!!! I would definitely recommend this book. Go out and get so you can see what all the hype is about. You won't be disappointed.

PAPER DOLL WAS A VERY GOOD READ FOR ME. HERE YOU HAVE A CHICK THAT IS ABOUT THAT MONEY AND WILL PLAY ANYONE TO GET IT. SHE HAS ANDRE TAKING CARE OF HER BUT HE CAN'T TAKE CARE OF HER NEEDS IN THE BED ROOM. THEN THERE IS THE BASKETBALL PLAYER WHO LIKES HER BECAUSE SHE IS FEISTY WITH AN ATTITUDE BUT ONLY WANTS HER FOR SEXUAL PLEASURE BUT SHE DOESN'T SEE THAT UNTIL UNEXPEXT EVENTS HAPPEN BETWEEN THEM. SHE THEN MEETS GREGORY THE MAN OF HER DREAMS WHO HAS ALL SHE EVERY WANTED OR NEEDS BUT GREGORY WANTS HER TO BE A WIFE AND MOTHER AND THAT IS SOMETHING SHE DOESN'T WANT AT THE MOMENT. SHE IS TOO WRAPPED UP IN HER CAREER AND THINKS THAT GREGORY IS TRYING TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM HER. SHE SOONS LOSE EVERYTHING THAT SHE WORKS SO HARD TO GET.

Had a lot of "WHAT" moments,
By
This review is from: Paper Doll (Paperback)
First, let me start off by saying I am easily entertained. It is rare that I read a book and don't like it. Well, "Paper Doll," I have sort of mixed feeling about which is why i gave it three stars. For starters, there were alot of unrealistic moments that made me say "What, where did that come from?" or "Random." Although it did have a good concept behind it and could have potentially been a phenomenal read, I felt that alot of it was rushed. Overall, the writing wasn't very well and the ending completely threw me for a loop, totally unexpected. However, I did enjoy the main character Karen "Kay." She was pretty interesting but this is definitely a book I will not read a second time.

The book was an okay read. The author was so descriptive until the point where I lost interest in the book. It took me 3 days to read the book. The overall plot was good, but the delivery was boring.
