Book Description

Make It With Paper Series December 1997
Paper Flowers contains an enchanting collection of papercraft projects. Easy-to-follow instructions demonstrate how to make eight wonderful paper flowers-using a simple cut-and-fold system that requires very little glue. Unlike complicated techniques that require crepe paper, wire, florists tape, and wooden dowels, these patterns produce stunning results from the most ordinary paper! This book contains all you need to fold an entire bouquet, plus templates to trace over and over again for an endless supply of paper flowers. Designed to delight beginner and experienced paper artist alike, these eight projects are fun to make. Once you learn the simple techniques shown, you will be able to create beautiful paper flower gifts, keepsakes, or decorations for any occasion. Features: Iris, Cactus, Tulip, Daylily, Lotus, Posies, and Daisies-with paper butterflies and a paper vase.

About the Author

Michael G. LaFosse, origami artist and papermaker, has been practicing the art of paper folding for more than 25 years. He teaches, designs, and works as a consultant to museums and schools. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States. LaFosse's interest in paper folding began at the age of 7. At the age of 12, he was inspired to begin creating his own original designs after seeing the extraordinary origami art of Japanese master Akira Yoshizawa. He has since had the opportunity to visit Japan and study with Yoshizawa.

Origami designs by LaFosse have been featured in books, film, and computer programs, and in designer displays at Symphony Hall in Boston and at SAKS Fifth Avenue in New York. His original designs for this series blend origami, paper construction, and special folding techniques to produce elegant results. Through workshops, videos, and finding new venues for showing his work, LaFosse is bringing the ancient art of origami to a widening audience. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational galleries, easy to make beautiful flowers, January 2, 2000
This is a great book that shows you how to easily create 8 different flower types. It is in full-color & includes instructions for roses, tulips, daisies, irises, daylilies, posies, cactus, & lotus flowers.

Each flower is demonstrated step-by-step with written instructions, illustrations & photos. Flower assembly includes cutting, gluing & folding. Conveniently, templates are provided in the back for each project.

Following each flower style is a gallery featuring beautiful & creative design ideas. These delightful galleries really helped inspire me with table decorations, boxes, bouquets and gift ideas.

I highly recommend this book for all skills levels & ages. With this book anyone make impressive paper flowers. I made a few of these easy pieces and even my husband was impressed.

This review is from: Paper Flowers (Make It With Paper Series) (Paperback)
This is a good book. However, there is another book, titled Make it with Paper Flowers by the same person, different front cover, exactly the same inside as this one. Be warned! I ended up buying them both!!!
