I am 13 and I love this book. I have spent over 40 hours with these designs. I love models and making things and this book is perfect. I took it with me when I went to my grandad's funeral and spent a lot of time making these pop-ups. They would be neat framed or somehow displayed. Buy this book for your kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Paper Magic., April 30, 2000

Positively fabulous book on paper craft. The arcitectural designs are somewhat more advanced, but the butterfly is probably the easiest and more effective for the beginner.

5.0 out of 5 stars A TREASURE TO OWN, January 2, 2011

Any book by Masahiro Chatani is a treasure for one who is interested in origamic architecture and beautiful paper.

Many of this "master's" patterns are far too complicated for beginners, but this little book is easy to use and has beautiful patterns for pop-up cards. It can be used by adults who have basic cutting and folding skills along with a bit of patience. I have made many of the cards in the book and my friends love receiving them. I even love looking at the photographs of his work. Really stunning.

From wikipedia.com:
"Masahiro Chatani was a Japanese architect (certified, first class) and professor considered to be the creator of origamic architecture.[5] From its development until his death in 2008, he was widely acknowledged to be the world's foremost origamic architect."
