Short, but good.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Paper Moon (Audio CD)
I think this cd is very good. The lyrics are personal and the melodies are unusually pretty. I listen to it when I'm feeling creative, and even though many of the songs are sad, I always feel happy when listening to Paper Moon. The only problem with the cd is that it is too short! It only has ten songs, and I would love to hear more of Mancy's soft, unique voice.

Melancholy,

I would never have discovered Mancy A'lan Kane had I not been browsing through the used CD section of a store. However, after opening up the CD and reading the cover, I was intrigued by the lyrics. Mancy wrote every song on the CD except for one. Even though these songs are written from the view point of a young woman, it has everything to do with relationships with others, and I was able to identify. My favorite songs on the CD are "After the Rain", "Daisy", "I'll Be the One" and "Taboo". "Taboo" is about a terrible situation that is kept secret in many families. I applaud Mancy for being able to write and sing about this. The accompanying music on this CD is outstanding. This CD is the type that grows on you every time you listen to it. I play it while driving home from work when in a melancholy mood.
