Not Perfect But It WIll Help You Along,
By stephen Garry (Manchester England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Paper Mario Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides) (Paperback)
This guide to Paper Mario doesnt contain everything that you need to complete the game, but its not far short. This guide tells you instantly if there are any items to be collected in every are, and it gives you details about all of the characters. This is the best guide about at the moment so if you are stuck and need a little bit of guidance then give this guide a look over. (its not cheating, its a little guidance)

Don't buy this guide!,
By Andrew Conrad (Baltimore, MD United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Paper Mario Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides) (Paperback)
I got this guide used so I only paid $2 for it, yet I still feel ripped off. The main reason I wanted a strategy guide for Paper Mario were the lists and side-quest information, but that is exactly where it falls flat on its face. There is no list of Koopa Koot's favors (which the guide errantly says there is on page 47), the list of recipes is missing 15 of them, the Chuck Quizmo questions list gives the wrong answer at least once (#9: 5 should be 6), there are no in-depth strategies for things like leveling up(as it says there is on page 39), the badge list is missing 5 badges and lists one of them twice (First Attack), and the great in-depth strategy on defeating the master tells you nothing more than his basic stats. That's like telling a boxer how much Mike Tyson weighs and how long his reach is and then throwing him into the ring. The one thing that this guide does do well is the basic walkthrough and puzzle solutions, unfortunately, the puzzles in Paper Mario usually involve stepping on a single switch, so the extraneous attention in that department was unnecessary. Also, keep in mind that the errors I listed above were discovered on a casual read of the guide. Under further scrutiny, I'm certain that many more holes and mistakes would be found. It's a shame that many of these problems could have been solved by a $10 an hour proofreader. However, other problems with this guide would not be so easy to fix, such as its obvious incompleteness. Reading this guide makes me long for the official Nintendo Power publication. I would not want to suffer through one of Brady Games guides again, and hopefully readers of this review will be spared ahead of time.

Paper Mario Brady Games Review,
By Matt (Exeter, NH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Paper Mario Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides) (Paperback)
This is an OK strategy guide. It's set up well, with tabs on the top of each page, so you can quickly see if a Star Piece, Item, Badge, or Letter can be obtained in this area. There is a complete bestiary, an items list, and a badge list. Unfortunately, there is an incomplete recipe list (it shows only 35 recipes out of 50) and although it is stated in the guide that there is a Koopa Koot favor list, there isn't one at all. The guide does not reveal all of the star pieces, and it tends to be insufficient when explaining how to get one. Analysis: Buy a different guide.

Paper Mario Official Strategy Guide,
This review is from: Paper Mario Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides) (Paperback)
Paper Mario is a good video game to play with an 9 year old. At the time when I purchase the game, I had no clue how to play this game. My son and I had fun playing the game until we were stuck in one of the levels. I spent a month and half trying to get to the next level, until I gave up and looked for some help. This book help me a lot. I would recommonded this book for anyone playing Paper Mario for the fist time.

Good Walkthrough, but Incomplete,
This review is from: Paper Mario Official Strategy Guide (Bradygames Strategy Guides) (Paperback)
The walkthrough in this guide is good and will allow you to get through the game; however, unlike what it claims, this guide does NOT cover all of the side material. The Koopa Koot quests are not covered, and the list of Tayce T.'s recipes is incomplete. There is also no list of badge locations. Overall, the Nintendo Power guide is a far better guide; the only thing this one does better is the list of Chuck Quizmo's quiz questions; it provides the answers, while the NP guide does not. Overall, just go with the NP guide.
