Very colorful with easy to follow instructions. More than one idea to use on each card.

This is a beautiful book. It is organized by themes (e.g., birthday, Easter, wedding, etc.) with a group of paper projects for each theme. Some of the projects are popups and some are just interesting paper projects. I think it will be particularly helpful if you are planning some kind of event or celebration and you are looking for a group of projects that will cover the gamut for what you need for that event (such as an anniversary party or an Easter dinner). Of course, the projects for any particular theme can be adapted for something else. The pictures are beautiful and plentiful but for some reason they miss the mark when it comes to being useful for making the projects, particularly the popups. They are a little too artsy and fuzzy and the popup mechanisms are not quite clear enough to be helpful. There are not enough clear pictures of "this is what it looks like when it's done" separate from the group picture of all of the projects in the theme. I am a very experienced paper crafter and paper engineer and I am able to use the projects by just depending on the explanation, but I am aware that I am having to rely on my own experience rather than on the pictures in the book. In response to another reviewer, yes, the book does require a set of tools but none of them are expensive or out of the ordinary if you are going to be doing these kinds of crafts projects. I thought that the materials requirements were quite reasonable (you should see the requirements in some cake decorating books if you want to see ridiculous lists of tools!). In summary- the projects are good but they will be a challenge to a beginner paper crafter mainly because of the lack of clear pictures rather than because they are particularly difficult to do. The book provides good ideas and has some new twists that I appreciated. I am glad that I bought it and I have learned some new techniques from it. But it is not titled appropriately - it should be titled something like "Paper Projects Through the Year."

NOT about pop-ups,

It's a beautifully laid out book, with plenty of photos and easy to follow directions -- for all kinds of things. If you're looking for ideas for a party or a themed event, this is the book for you. While there were plenty of cards, too few of them were pop-ups. I'm an experienced card maker and was looking for something challenging and new. This book was a disappointment to me.

The book was ok. In fact, it was a good book. Just too technical and time-consuming for me. If you like spending some time making a cute pop-up card, this is for you.Kids will love them! I just prefer cards that go a little faster.

If you a paper crafter, you will enjoy this book. It has some really fun ideas. The instructions are easy to follow and it contains many ideas to help you create a variety of card-making projects. I made several of the projects and received so many compliments. The color pictures are great!
