Editorial Reviews

2010 release. Paper Tongues, from Charlotte, NC, plays for the people. Fusing massive Rock 'n' Roll melodies with fiery Hip Hop beats, the band conjures and infections, incendiary sound on this debut. Embracing elements of Rock, Funk, Rap and Soul, the seven member band have created something you haven't heard or experienced before. It's music for dancing, crying, loving and living.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best New Band and Best Album of 2010! June 6, 2010
Format:Audio CD
Paper Tongues' debut deserves to ride a roller coaster to the top of the charts. Their fresh blend of rap, rock, and soul are a breath of fresh air in a music industry that often is inundated with copycat performers who don't stretch the envelope of creativity. From the opening notes of "Trinity," the listener is captivated by the band's solid musicianship, Aswan North's incredible vocals, and the band's positive, uplifting lyrics. This is a song that you can listen to a hundred times and not get tired of it. Same goes for the explosive rap workout, "Ride to California," and the chugging, rhythmic "Get Higher," a #1 hit song if ever I heard one. Through all ten tracks, Paper Tongues prove that this new decade is starting off to a promising start musically. Manager Randy Jackson should bring this band onto American Idol to perform so they receive the attention they deserve. This band should be breaking big and burning up the charts, as all ten tracks could be hit singles. If you have not bought this album, what are you waiting for? It is essential and signals a bright future for the music industry. Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique... in a very good way April 7, 2010
Format:MP3 Music
I first saw these guys perform when they were one of 3 opening bands for Muse at a radio station concert in December. The energy Aswan North has on stage is absolutely contagious! The songs are a mixture of different genres but it all works very well. I just got back from their concert tonight in LA where we heard all of these songs performed live and it was absolutely fabulous! 5 stars for sure!

4.0 out of 5 stars Something different...
Paper Tongues: A dash of cheese, a bit of corn, a light dusting of bombastry. These are the secret ingredients of this album BUT I LOVE IT! (Please excuse their unfortunate name)
