The millennium bug may not really be a very big problem at all, or it may be huge. However... A failure rate of only 10% could have devastating effect on your personal wealth and medical needs. Why take unnecessary chances? Following the instructions in this book is one of the biggest steps you can take to get your life organized and help protect your loved ones.
And if Y2K is a bust...... Unfortunately, Y2K isn't the only reason to create a detailed paper trail. Properly assembled and protected hard copies of important documents will help your family recover faster from natural disasters, such as floods, fires, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes. Or just as unthinkable, what if you didn't come home from work tomorrow? Your insurance, your equities, your hard earned assets are only of value to your loved ones, if they know about them and can access them.
I know. At 43, at the top of my career in radiology, I contracted a relentless infectious illness while recovering from angioplasty for a 95% heart blockage. Closer to death than life, I wasn't physically able to assemble the information I knew my wife would need after I was gone. As soon as I was able, I gathered all that documentation and organized it. While I did, I kept track of everything I did and augmented the information in other areas, especially in the area I'm most familiar with, medicine. Then I had a lawyer, accountant, and an insurance agent review and revise areas they are familiar with. So many books tell you to create a file of hard copies, but none of them tell you how with the level of detail you need to be fully protected. I have striven to do that with this workbook. I wish you and your families the best, and I admonish you, "get prepared NOW!"
