I first heard (of) Loch Lomond at a Decemberists concert, for which they were opening. They absolutely blew me away. They have an amazing group dynamic: every one of them is uniquely charming, but they manage to be very cohesive, weaving melodies around each others' instruments. (Also, I got a bit of a crush on the xylophonist.)

After the concert, these guys were out back, selling Paper the Walls. Man, that was so cool, buying a CD directly from the band. It'll be a great story to tell once they're enormously famous.

This CD is superb. I don't even know how to describe it...ethereal, I suppose. At times it's delicate, and at times very heavy. Very folky overall. A bit like Iron & Wine, only vaster and more subtle, if that makes any sense. They all work so well together. It's fine music.

I want to say that Carl Sagan and A Field Report are the best songs, but really I don't know if that's true. I rarely get past them whenever I listen--because of going back to play them again, that is.

Basically: I lose CDs all the time. I've lost this one twice, and I've bought it again both times. That's how good it is. I really want to have it, and I really want these guys to make money. Go get it! You won't be disappointed.

This product was exactly as advertised. i recommend wholly. A++++. It is all good for me. (more words to appease Amazon.com, though nothing more to say).

The first time I heard the 3rd song from this CD was in a yoga class. I was singing with it by the end of the song. What a great sounding group. You have to hear them!!!!!!
