I love this game when it was on regular Nintendo and now on Nintendo 64. I love riding in peoples yard throwing papers at the windows and breaking them of course your not suppost to do that or you'll lose points to get some points throw the papers in their mail boxes or at the front door step. A dog will chase you and a old woman to stop them just throw paper at them you also have to watch out for cars and motorcycles.

This was a pretty good transition from the Arcade game to the home system. PAPERBOY was pretty fun game for what it was. You are the local paperboy and your job is to deliver the paper to the designated houses but while you're on your route, you have to watch for dogs, lawnmowers, cars and other obstacles. And at the end of each route, you get a bonus round for some extra points.Really though, this is a very simple game and the basis of it was also really simple but when it all came down to it, it was fun. I will admit for the advanced gamer, you probably wouldm't have as much fun because of the game's easy gameplay. But for younger gamers and beginning gamers, this was great for them. I really only suggest this game to younger gamers and beginning gamers because it's just way too simple for the advanced gamer and I almost guarantee you, you'll get bored after a while (advanced gamers). If you're looking for other Arcade games that hit the NES, check out TMNT the Arcade Game, 720 and GAUNTLET.

I was so happy to find this game on amazon! I was one of my favorites as a kid and its nice to see that the years haven't made the memories nicer than they actually were!

You know, this game is still fun to play even with all the fancy Wii/PS3/etc games out there. The graphics and gameplay are pretty simple, but the goal and gameplay of the game is clear and enjoyable, you have to deliver newspapers to houses and keep them as subscribers. Throwing newspapers through windows and damaging property will cause them to unsubscribe, and if you run out of subs before the seven days is over, you lose the game. If you manage a perfect delivery, you get a new sub! No, this game does not go on forever - you start with ten subs out of twenty houses, so if you manage a perfect delivery every day, you end up with sixteen subscribers by Sunday (the last day of the game) Sounds easy, right?
Actually it's harder than it sounds, and that adds to the fun of the game! You have obstacles and people who actually try to stop you from accomplishing your goal. You lose a life when you get knocked down by said obstacles. There's dogs chasing after you, irate housewives, loose wheels rolling around, skateboarders and break-dancers, and stationary obstacles such as fences, grates, and brick cairns. All in all, this is a solid old-school game with a simple but well-done premise that is lots of fun to play, so 5/5 stars!

I laugh when people write that Paperboy is a very difficult game. No, it isn't, but how they played it probably made it too tough to play. For me, I took the wimp route and beat it without a problem. No, it's not a Game Genie that was used. Listen up, follow this simple strategy, and it will work for you. Notice in the game how you are able to advance to the next day if you have enough white houses. Then...that's how you beat the game. Get it? No? Ok...fine. Theoretically and basically, you will advance to the next day if you have at least one white house standing on the route. Pretty much, who cares about the fact that you either make 10 out of 10 perfectly or miss a ton of them? As long as you make one perfect delivery to a house, you are good to go for the next day. That's exactly how you should play the game. So, here is my perfect strategy in terms of beating Paperboy: forget about racking up points by throwing tons of papers, forget about throwing papers to every white house in hopes for gaining a house next day unless you have no fear of being run over by an obstacle, focus on making a perfect run avoiding all obstacles along the way without losing a life, and just hit the two of the easiest houses on the route. The game is much, much harder if you juggle through hitting white houses as perfectly as you can, riding the bike in an aligned manner, avoiding obstacles side and front, and picking up newspapers. I pretty much focused on aligning my bike perfectly as I can and just worked on the same two houses every day. I don't even care about the training course since it doesn't affect my lives. I prefer to crash once I am in there, just to save my hands from getting sore. That's how the game is easy for me to beat. I actually survived the whole thing with one house left (another one was added on Sunday for a "perfect" delivery), making the entire game a joke. Even the farewell part was lunatic to observe, seeing how laughably I missed so many houses yet I won. That's how bad the game is. I know Paperboy has been regarded as a classic back then, but let's get real...the game sucks. Anybody can beat it if my simple strategy is followed. Otherwise, tough game and not worth attempting.

I purchased this game as a gift. I was looking for a used copy and went through Amazon for its reliability. This came through another vendor. I am very impressed with the entire process. I got confirming emails immediately from Amazon and the vendor. The item arrived promptly and in good condition. I hear from the recipient that the game works perfectly.
