I was surfing for something completely different when I came across this product last year. The "format" of the product intrigued me and the price wasn't bad, so I thought I'd give it a try. I had a WONDERFUL surprise and everyone in my family LOVES it. (And getting a unanimous agreement in any family is quite a trick!) All my friends and family buy this stuff now. And, we all take it with us when staying in hotels. It's especially good at making a cheap motel room smell OK.

You simply tear out a small slip of this paper, fold it up accordion-style, light it and quickly blow out the flame, and then place it on a dish or something non-flammable. I don't know how it works, but the paper slowly smolders away until only the ash is left. There's not a lot of smoke. Very neat and not like the crazy ash that goes everywhere in the average stick incense.

The smell slowly wafts up and then infuses the room with a wonderful smell that's hard to describe. It reminds me of burning leaves in autumn, but that's not exactly right, either. If you've ever been to a Catholic High Mass (like during Christmas or Easter), the incense they use is pretty close to the way this smells. I think it must be a combination of frankincense and myrrh. Whatever - it's a really unique smell.

It's not a "heavy" over-powering smell like a lot of stick incense and it's not like a strong smell that is trying to cover up bad smells. However, it DOES cover up strong smells very well. Usually, when I cook a curry meal, the smell stays in the house for three days. This stuff just gets rid of that smell and leaves this nice smell that slowly goes away. Somehow the bad smells don't come back.

I buy this in bulk now and give it away to anyone who notices how great my house smells!

Having lived in France for over four years, the aroma of d'Armenie brings back warm memories. These little paper gems are so simple, easy to use, and amazingly fragrant; there is no wonder why they are a staple in almost every French Household. For anyone who is curious on WHAT exactly they are, its pretty simply equated to incense, the only difference is that they are small sheets of paper that you fold into an accordion shape, place on a plate or dish, one end is lit briefly then blown out. As the paper smolders (for about 1 minute), it leaves an amazing bouquet of floral and sandel wood scents behind that linger for days. I was so thrilled when I ran across this on amazon, and at such a great value too.

These things are great. I use half a strip after doing my business and that's plenty to elimate odor in a rather large bathroom. I find the scent of the papers to be pleasant. It's better than the smell that was there before, and it works immediately. I never worry about someone walking into the bathroom immediately after me if I light one of these things.
