4.0 out of 5 stars Review of Paradigm 7101 ACTIVcycle
Although I have not had the unit long I find it very good for exercising my right leg, had a complete knee replacement, during the Winter. A brought it up to my surgeon and he was very pleased with the unit. It was very easy to start using.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing!
If you're used to a hard workout, this isn't for you. I purchased the Paradigm while suffering an injury. I thought it would provide me with a good upper body workout. It didn't. I was disappointed with quality issues. The digital display never worked. One of the handles kept falling off. That was my first experience. I immediately wrapped it up and put it back in...

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than I hoped for!, May 17, 2009

A must have for physical therapy. I have M.S. and this keeps my legs/arms moving when I'm too weak or fatigued to do it myself. I saw this item on another site for $169.Easy to lift and position. I find other family members using it too! Great product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good stationary bike, January 21, 2010

This is a wonderful bike, and works well, takes up very little space and is easily stored. The only problem I have with this item is that it still slips around on the floor even with the pad that prevents slipping.

I have M.S. and with this you have no movement in legs so they tingle and with this I get my circulation going and no more tingling.
Thanks,
Kimberly

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little cycle machine!, July 2, 2010

A year after total knee replacement, I was looking for a cycle machine to keep my knee flexible. A recumbent bike was suggested by my orthopedist. Where in the world would I put one? I found this motorized exercise cycle at Amazon.com and thought it would be perfect. It is! I use it for 45 minutes every day, and my knee feels 100% better than it did before I got the machine.

I wouldn't think that this cycle would be good for someone who wanted to build quad muscles as there is little resistance. It's great for flexibility.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love This Product, May 27, 2009

A friend has this product and loves it. She recommended that I get one. I did and needless to say, I also love it. I've used it for a few months and actually think it has helped my high blood pressure go down and a little belly and arm fat go off. Hey, there's nothing like exercising in front of the TV.

I'm very pleased with the activcycle. I use the cycle four to five times a day and its been four weeks since I received the cycle. Having MS with drop leg, this cycle has been very helpful in using my left leg again. I have even told my doctor about it.. and why was I never told about this type of product...instead of taking pills for my leg problem....Amazing what you learn on your own...Try it its great.

4.0 out of 5 stars works very well, August 1, 2010

I got this for some leg exercise, keep the blood flowing as I can't get out and walk right now.

It has great variable speeds and I have no problem with start up or stops. It is nice to be able to start slow, work up speed then slow down at end of exercise time.

Also great for arms, just set on table and put hands on pedals.

Only thing I do NOT like it the remote cord is not long enough, maybe in time it will stretch (it's like an old
curly telephone cord)

All in all I'm pleased with product so far.

I purchased this item for my 89 year old mother at the recommendation of her physical therapist. She has mild arthritis in one knee and the other knee was replaced 4 years ago. So she has limited mobility but benefits from mild exercise, which is what this machine provides. She started out at the minimum settings as recommended in the manual and has gradually increased the speed and duration. She says she has less pain after using it for over a month and that makes it a worthwhile purchase.
Negatives, a longer cord on the controller would help and the digital display is not the easiest for older people to understand.
