Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book was recommended by Emma Clark in her book Islamic gardens (I will link this later). The book itself sets out to give the reader a brief walk through Persia /Mughal history, specifically about the gardens. I believe the details on the gardens is lite...only explaining at a high level the various gardens and the layout. But that's alright I wasn't that interested in this anyway. What I really found interesting was the quick trot through Persian history with a focus on the culture and gardening practices of the people of the past. It was refreshing ,and Shibly the 70's writing style made it an easy read. I enjoyed it immensely.

I found the black and white gardening photos particularly bad. Maybe the publisher needs to redo with color photos and reprint?
