I did not enjoy this book, nor did I find it very helpful. I bought it because I was planning a trip to Kauai with family. First of all, I cannot recall more than one mention of how to spend time here with family. Secondly, reading the pages called "What To See" (p. 56-108) made me not want to visit the island. These pages were boring. They "drove" you around the island, describing every rock and tree that you pass, and the history behind each. To be honest with you, I am not going to Kauai for the history of their trees! Ok, a bit of sarcasm, but if you read this, you will see what I mean. I gave this book 2 stars instead of 1 because every once in a while it gives a "best bets" list, which is exactly what I was looking for in a book, but I had to dig deep and waste a lot of time (reading) to find them. Save your money and buy the "blue bible" instead!
