Aaron Shurin is the author of eleven books of poetry and prose, most recently Citizen a collection of prose poems (City Lights Books, 2012) and King of Shadows, a collection of personal essays (City Lights Books, 2008.) Other publications include Involuntary Lyrics (Omnidawn, 2005), A Door (Talisman House, 2000), and The Paradise of Forms: Selected Poems (Talisman House, 1999.) His writing has appeared in over thirty national and international anthologies, and has been translated into seven languages. Shurin's honors include fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council, the San Francisco Arts Commission, and the Gerbode Foundation. He has lived in San Francisco since 1974, where he is a Professor in the MFA in Writing Program at the University of San Francisco.
