Bought these in January 2009. So far two have broken when I bumped them while walking. Very fragile. Top light fixture just breaks off very easily leaving just the plastic pole. Would not buy again or recommend. I have Westinghouse Brass path lights that have been in excellent working order for almost 3 years. Will buy the brass westinghouse.
I am giving 3 stars because they do provide a very nice white light and good illumination. Just don't put them close to foot traffic!

These are very fragile, like another reviewer mentioned. The light is also not that bright. For marking sides of the pathway they are "ok", however I would not depend on them to help you see at night.

Lovely accent light.,

I would not call it an illumination, but a lovely, eery accent light.
Have 4 of these lights bought this summer, poked 2 in the ground, 2 on the deck rails to compete with the moonlight. Eager to get more. It depends somewhat on how the rechargeable battery holds up through the winter, though it would be nice to have them for Xmas. -Spiders love to spin their cocoons around the battery positive end to effectively disable it. The disassembly and cleaning is easy with a small Phillips manual screwdriver to make sure not to strip the plastic screw tread. Got mine at Biglots, at 3 bucks each, plus 6% sales tax. I will not buy them on the web: shipping cost is ludicrous. |
