5.0 out of 5 stars Paradise Rock Light
I've owned one for 3 years. It has worked perfectly for that time Had to replace the rechargeable batteries after that. I think it's very well made, serviceable and beautiful. The light is enough to light a trail on a dark night. Spotlight it's not. I'm buying more of them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Solar Light
I bought this solar light 3 years ago and it is still going strong today. Do not listen to the other reviews. The only problem I have with it is I wish it was a bit cheaper than the $29.99 price tag, because I would love to get a dozen of them. The nice thing about them is that they blend in and you do not have to plant them in the ground like the cheaper solar lights...

I bought this solar light 3 years ago and it is still going strong today. Do not listen to the other reviews. The only problem I have with it is I wish it was a bit cheaper than the $29.99 price tag, because I would love to get a dozen of them. The nice thing about them is that they blend in and you do not have to plant them in the ground like the cheaper solar lights. If you want to move it you simply pick it up and move it. It provides a decent amount of light, but probably about average for a solar light.

UPDATE: I ordered a 2nd one and it was DOA. Do not order!

I should have listened to some of the other reviewers here and passed on this item. Instead I doubled down and bought two. After a few days, only one of them is still working. I took the non-functional unit apart to see what had happened, and it turns out one of the wires had not been soldered correctly and had come loose (maybe I can salvage it). The switch is also a problem, as it gets stuck in the "auto" position and will not click back to "off." This product is cheaply made, but considering what I paid for it, I should not have expected high quality. I'd normally chalk it up to bad luck on my part, but since others have had similar problems, it's clearly the product. On the positive side, the functional unit is very bright and holds a solid charge, at least so far (thus the 2 star rating). We'll see how long it lasts, though. I recommend you pass on this item, unless you are willing to roll the dice and hope you get a functional unit - there are pleny of other quality outdoor solar LED lighting options.

Update: I've now had the second, functional unit for about six weeks. The light remains bright, the batteries hold a strong charge, and it has withstood rain and triple-digit heat. Still, based on my problems with the non-functional unit, I recommend you pass on this item.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not A Reliable Product, October 25, 2011

I purchased three of these units. One of them was immediately defective and returned to Amazon for a replacement. Amazon was very good about replacing the unit. A second one soon lost it's ability to charge the rechargeable batteries. I am getting a replacement from the manufacturer but feel that two defective units out of three does not speak well for the product's reliability or the manufacturer's quality control procedures.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless, July 13, 2011

Do not buy this product. The first one also did not work after a day and was returned. I will not make the effort to return this second one as my time is more valuable than the $20 I paid. I did check to see if the batteries were bad. The electronics shows that it is charging up the rechargeable batteries. There must be a problem with the circuit board as the LED's appear to work independent of the circuitry.

Junk, cheaply made. It was broken and parts were scattered around the inside including the light bulbs.
Wouldn't recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a flood light but rather a short range spot light, October 14, 2011
By
This review is from: Paradise GL23078 Polyresin Solar Rock Flood Light with Three White LED's, Rock Grey (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought one two years ago, painted it white to blend into other real rocks and it worked fine until dampness rusted out the inner compartment. The battery compartment isn't as sealed as it should be for an item this close to the earth. It worked fine after a second set of batteries were inserted (yes, recharagable ones) and now it is about to get tossed as it has failed: rust on both battery contacts, springs, rubber seal failed as did the two plastic retaining loops for the outer cover.
I would not purchase another one. Too bad as it did work great for a year or so.

This light is poorly manufactured, a piece of garbage.

Buy American and I believe you will get more for your money. Finding an American product of this type is the problem.
