the lights were great (although dim) when I first got them but then they just stopped working after 30 days of use. Don't waste your money.

I own a hotel in Phoenix and use these to illuminate a 15 foot wide metal sign... I bought two sets, which do a nice job, and just ordered a third. If you're lighting a small plant, a sign, or a pathway, these are just fine... and with time as more efficient smaller solar panels become cheaper and lower watt, brigher LEDs become cheaper, I don't think you'll see anything but solar lights for landscaping.

Not Well Constructed,

Bought two of these items. Two sets. When they arrived (delayed almost two weeks from Amazon for some reason), one worked, the other one was DOA. Both are pretty shoddy construction. Wires don't plug in completely, and when they do, they fall out easily. I didn't get the chance to test them because of travel, for another two weeks, when I got back. Sadly, because it was beyond the 30 day Amazon exchange/return policy for defective items, I had to deal with the manufacturer myself. Ugh. I've bought many solar lights for my house, and these are pretty bad, I will admit. My suggestion is to pass.

A reasonable bargain for us solar-powered lighting sleuths. Missing part (not thought through by the manufacturer) was a base for the solar panel that could be screwed to the wall, rather than the enclosed stake than can only be stuck into the ground. I cut apart the base from another line of solar lights (Malibu? No longer makes this particular light kit - who knows why?) glued and screwed it together and all is fine.
I'll probably be buying a few more kits, if they're still making them in the coming months. |
