Another great find from San Diego, CA... Keyboardist John Pedersen releases his fourth album PARADISE. The new project was released earlier this year on Valentine's Day appropriately enough as it is an inspired project reflecting the courtship and subsequent marriage to his longtime sweetheart. Sherri and John honeymooned in Hawaii, which added even more inspiration to the collection of tunes as well as some lovely imaging to the CD artwork. Thirteen songs in all... Instrumentals telling melodic stories of love, romance and adventure all influenced by Smooth Jazz with nods to chill, rock and new age. The diversity shouldn't be surprising as the artist enjoys listening to a wide variety of music from jazz to progressive rock. PARADISE is a smooth journey, however. With songs like "City Lights," a cool blend of searing guitar (Andy Machin) and relaxed keys, the chilled, "Soul Mates," and the world lounge feel of "Along The Path," it's easy to get lost in PARADISE (which is a very good thing). Just put it on, let it spin and lay back. We really enjoy this project for its variety... John plays state of the art synthesizers as well as acoustic piano and organ, which makes for a consistent yet somewhat eclectic listening experience. ~SANDY SHORE

Musically, John Pederson's latest offering is a strong production full of very tasty guitar work, exemplary keyboard technique, and percussionary tactics, you wouldn't normally find in this genre of music. I highly recommend this because of the varied styles that are prevalent, all contained in a neat little package full of big surprises, all 13 tracks seem to flow very well together and rather then describe them, it is now in your hands to purchase this CD and make your own conclusion..........so, get it!
