Old Paradise Lost... great,
This review is from: Paradise Lost: Live Death (DVD)
First before I type my review, I wish to say this dvd is not bad because it is heavier and not rock. As you may know Paradise lost changed their style a lot from 89' to now. Their old material was very important to the doom metal genre and there new material is important to gothic rock. Now to the review, in this dvd they do not sound like cannible corpse (cannible corpse is grindcore/death metal, Paradise Lost's sound here is Doom/death metal. I would recomend this release to anyone who likes live material and their "Gothic" "Lost Paradise" era. It is very heavy with some fast, some slower sections.

First of all, don't pay attention to what the amateurs have to say about Paradise Lost and their "Lost Paradise" and "Gothic" era. If that boy knew anything about PL he wouldn't write that childish review. Take the advice - next time save us a time and ask for your money back if you think it's not worth it. Comparing PL to CC is pitiful and there are two reasons: you have to learn to recognize different types of metal, and second of all it is so obvious that you know little about Cannibal Corpse but the thing is that CC is a band for respect and you have shown none. You could've mentioned million of other death/gore metal amateurs (Nile, Mortification, Avulsed...) if that was your goal but not CC.Back to the review. There's not much to say. It's simple as this: if you like old PL go ahead buy this DVD and waste no more time, but if you recently heard about them and you were at first introduced to their last few releases this might be a little bit of a shock for you as this is not PL you know. PL on this DVD is PL that established gothic/doom in Europe that time and that is something you might wanna show some respect for.

This DvD is just awesome .. so far one of my best purchases ever done .. Paradise Lost has been my favorte band for years n years .. and who know PL for real know .. how they used to sound like back in the Lost Paradise / Gothic era ... this DvD recorded before the release of their debut album .. show's the band in their begin .. its funny to see Nick holmes at his 18year old's doing the mass destruction on the stage. . .with killing vocals ... i recommend this dvd for all PL fans that appreciate the first albuns of the band ... people who dont like death/doom metal .. might not like this dvd ^^

This is NOT the Paradise Lost that has been recording the last few years, but a video from 1989 when the band sounded like Cannibal Corpse. Pitiful. Waste of my hard-earned money. Amazon should warn customers that this "new" DVD is old material.
