5 years after its release, "Paradise in Me" remains a thoroughly enjoyable record. K's Choice stormed onto the US music scene with its breakthrough hit "Not An Addict" (which has been misunderstood and in actuality is an anti-drug song). The album is a top-notch "alternative rock" CD, starting with "Not An Addict", but containing many more instant recognizable hooks like "A Sound Only You Can Hear", "Mr. Freeze", "Paradise in Me" and the show-stopper at all of K's Choice's concerts, the sing-along "Something's Wrong". While K's Choice worked the US tour circuit hard, they never could really quite make it "big" in the US. Nevermind, this album marked the band at its top, and remains the Belgian band's pride and joy. Give it a listen, and you won't be disappointed.

I bought this CD just two days ago. I had downloaded Not an Addict and, just like everyone else, had listened to it on repeat nonstop, especially in winter. I finally went and bought the actual album and I am so happy that I did. Paradise in Me is a surprisingly eclectic album...though often the melodies and the lyrics linger around the same notes and ideas, the final product of each song is intricately unique.

My favorite song on the album is My Record Company. I am surprised that no one else seems to like it so much. But all in all, each song is absolutely beautiful. Sarah's lullying vocals are accented beautifully now and then by her brother's voice. It's a frickin masterpiece, my friends. It is the perfect album for winter.

K's Choice speaks of real life--even the not so pretty side of it. They don't shy away from the truth and they let it come in haunting melodies. They sound as if they have been through each experience--there is an honesty to it, that today's other hits lack. I recommend this music to anyone who lives in the real world and wants something better.

In Dallas, Texas years ago, a new song suddenly flooded the radio waves. It was Not An Addict, and we all became adddicted to the sounds of K's Choice! My mother accuses them of being monotone and boring, but all I could say was that I heard the message in the song, and the feeling put into the music behind those words. I liked the album overall, but the only song I truly care to hear is Not An Addict. It all came back to me the other day when I heard it on the television, playing over a heroin addiction anti- drug advertisement in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I think the song has been put to good use, not to mention it's easy to sing for those of us who can't.

What the hell is an "Emap" magazine? Print criticism from people who _matter_ please. Like.. ME! I have worn the grooves (?) off of this CD in the past year. It absolutely rocks. From poignant to bitter to funny, these guys do it all. .. and they do it with a lot of really catchy melodies and choruses that just STICK in your head like stale Ju Ju Bees to dental work... only, you know, in a _pleasant_ way.

Having been introduced to K's Choice via hearing "Virgin State of Mind" my first run through this album was a little disappointing. After a couple more hearings my view of this album has changed and it is firmly cemented in our near my cd changer.

Apart from "Not an Addict" the album lacks another obvious lead track but the overall quality of the songs mean that the skip button is virtually redundant as long as this cd is playing, which is rare in albums nowadays.

What makes this record and band stand out is the quality of the vocals. Whatever your music taste they are worth listening to.

Well, K's Choice actually found it's way into my life with their following album, Cocoon Crash, but this remains I think their edgiest album, and undoubtedly one of the greatest CDs on my collection. What I love most about K's Choice, other than the profound lyrics and mesmerizing harmonies that can be found and each and every one of their songs, is there versatility. Alongside with beautiful, acoustic ballads like Wait, The BEAUTIFUL Song For Catherine, touching Dad and Only Dreaming, you can find songs like the breakthrough hit single Not An Addict, the obviously Beatles influenced, "A Sound That Only You Can Hear", the odd "Mr Freeze", the rocking "To This Day", the almost metallic in quality "Iron Flower", the short but GREAT "Paradise In Me", the funny "My Record Company", the again, odd, "Old Woman" and the hilarious playful "Something's Wrong". The non autobiographical opening track, "Not An Addict", which was mistaken by some for a pro-drug song, is a great opening. The enchanting vocals at the beginning catch your attention immediately. In the melodic "Wait", you can actually hear the love Sarah felt for that person, she was in love with as a teen. "Dad", another acoustic song, manages to be sensitive and personal, without getting sappy. "Paradise In Me", is short but manages to get the massage and is very intense. The lyrics to "Iron Flower" and "White Kite Fauna", much like their "Virgin State Of Mind" which appears on the Buffy soundtrack, are kinda weird, very dark and moody. Gert, who probably wrote those numbers, says they simply catch his state of mind at a certain time, which can, as we see, be very dark. On the first page in the booklet, it says "We humbly dedicate this album to Michael & Catherine", and as I understand, "Song For Catherine" was written about that Catherine person, who's a friend of the Bettens's, who's brother (Michael?) committed suicide - which gives this emotional and spine-chilling song, and extra, personal meaning.

I'd recommend buying this album to anyone's who into great music, and give this band a chance. You'll totally love it. It's probably even better than "Cocoon Crash", which is another great CD you must have. Go, buy, now!

This is one of those records you can pop in and listen to straight through, even after hundreds of times and years later. The title track is among my favorites, but all of them are good enough to make the album a catch.

Okay, I'll be honest, I love it to death, but ain't it rather peculiar? I mean, upon, 1st, 2nd, and probaably many listens, one may very likely come to the conclusion that the two vocalists in this group, Sarah and Gert, are married. Now, we all know, or at least we do now, that that is not the way it is. They're siblings. Creepy. I love it!

The product arrived in good time and was exactly in the condition as advertised. I would do business with them again.
