5.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps Solaar's best work April 4, 2000
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Impeccably clean, and supremely tight, Paradisiaque is perhaps Solaar's best release. Elegantly mixes nostalgic rhymes with progressive beats. Highlights include Illico presto -- an amazing anti-romantic love song -- and Dakota.

4.0 out of 5 stars A new spin September 7, 2000
Format:Audio CD
I can't speak French, but MC Solaar makes me feel like I can. French lends itself to the art of rhyme. The fluid rolling words blend nicely with a type of Hip Hop music that is hard to classify. The beats are soft with an almost housey electronica feel. I have to admitt, I dig this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars MC ing has a new foreign leader November 10, 1999
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Not since Terror X Crew of Greece has a foreign rapper brought so much to the world of American Rap. If everyone listened to Solaar's slow, stoned, and yet wild beats more often, then the world would be a better place

Great CD. Rap and French go together like peanut butter and chocolate. These songs get stuck in your head.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! January 16, 1999
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Solaar's lyrical talents combined with the musical genius of his producers, Boom Bass and Zdar, combine to make Paradisique one of the best rap/hip-hop albums to date. Despite what some critics deem a failure, Solaar's third album features many addictive tracks such as Ganster Moderne, Les Temps Changent, and Les Boys Bandent. The lyrics in general aren't as sharp as in his two previous albums, but that still shouldn't stop you from getting this awesome CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastique! March 22, 2000
Format:Audio CD
En fait, Solaar est vraiment le maitre du rap français. Je l'aime mieux que le rap américain.
"Les Temps Changent" est le meilleur!
J'attends le nouvel album avec impatience!
Solaar is the king of French rap. I prefer it over American Rap.
"Les Temps Changent" is the best song on the CD.
I can't wait to hear the new album...

5.0 out of 5 stars Who Needs Deep? July 25, 2001
Format:Audio CD
I found Paradisiaque relatively light considering the torching protest lyrics of Prose Combat. Alright, it's not verbal violence, but it, musically, is characterized by the same smooth style Solaar always flows. In fact, I find the music on Paradisiaque better than Prose Combat, at some times edgy and quick, at others melodic and entrancing. All in all an excellent album.
