I had the chance to see Metamorfosi, a progressive rock quartet from Italy, at the North East Art Rock Festival (NearFest) 2004 in Lehigh, Pennsylvania. What an incredible band! These guys are masterful musicians and they play with a level of skill and power that few bands possess -- and I've seen hundreds of bands over the years. With a three piece musical core consisting of a multi-keyboardist with strong classical sensibilities and a powerhouse drum and bass section alongside -- they provide a commanding musical backing to a strong Italian singer whose operatic training and power is evident. Amazing band. Great music.
