More Parallel Adventure, April 4, 2007
This review is from: Parallel Seduction (Midnight Warriors, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Scott Dillon is one of the king's most trusted soldiers. In spite of his dubious ancestry as a human-Antousian hybrid, Scott strives to serve his adopted people to the best of his abilities. As a soldier, he confronts the enemy without mercy. As a man, however, he must face the enemy within. When an intruder arrives, Scott must handle it despite a grievous injury and his dual nature.
Hope Harper is one of the FBI's most talented linguists. When she met the alien Scott Dillon (in the last "Parallel" novel), she connected with him in a way she hadn't anticipated. Now she's stuck on base while Scott recovers from serious wounds sustained in the battle where he saved her life. Hope's future is uncertain, and it's harder to face with her deteriorating vision. Somehow, someway, she must find her way forward.
Jake Tierny has arrived from a desperate future. Determined to prevent several needless tragedies, he is shocked to run into the woman he thought he'd lost forever. He has a mission, but to complete it, he must face his own demons first.
PARALLEL SEDUCTION is the third and spiciest installment of Deidre Knight's "Midnight Warriors" series. Our hero, Scott Dillon, is a hardened soldier who alternates between feeling angst over his heritage and an inexplicable need to have sex with human women. The latter is off-putting at first, but the reasons become apparent, perhaps understandable. Hope is a much more engaging character. She has deeper layers to her psyche than Scott, as well as a great deal of strength.
The plot in this novel seems a bit thinner than the others, but ongoing storylines (such as Jared and Kelsey's hopes for a child, Marco's dark future) help flesh it out. Fans are likely to enjoy PARALLEL SEDUCTION, as Knight continues to weave a fascinating world that exists just out of the average human's sight.

An Action Packed Time Travel with Aliens in Love- Oh My! (B Grade), April 18, 2007
This review is from: Parallel Seduction (Midnight Warriors, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Deidre Knight's third book in this series about aliens trying to save Earth is a rollercoaster road of constant action. Where as the last two had more romance and passionate love scenes, "Parallel Seduction" is more of an ongoing puzzle of questions between the two characters of Hope and Scott and if they have a future or not.
Scott, the second in command top the alien King Jared from the first two books is highlighted here. He has fallen in love with human FBI linguist Hope who from diabetes is going blind. (She was introduced in Parallel Heat)
They both dream of a future between them that has not yet happened.(This is where the whole parallel thing comes into play) An important character yet again comes from the future and into the past to save the people of Earth, the rebel aliens and most importantly Scott and Hope. This person Jakob, has a major secret to tell by coming into the past. He is connected to Scott and Hope in a way that will change all three of them, including their unborn child.
This back and forth of the "what if/parallel" future may confuse some readers but also leaves an open ended plot device to carry on the series.
Fans of Jared and Kelsey from the first book will be overjoyed for they have alot of pages dedicated to them and including their own concern about having a child and ruling their people successfully.
Hope is one heroine who is strong and even though has a disability doesn't let that stand in her way. This includes her feelings for Scott, a being that is unlike anything she has ever known.
Any sci-fi fan who loves action along with a nice romance will enjoy this book and look forward to the ungoing series that the author has in store for the Antousians and their human counterparts.

Midnight Warriors keep me burning the midnight oil!, May 26, 2007
This review is from: Parallel Seduction (Midnight Warriors, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Desperate to change the dire outcome of a battle not going well for the Rafarians and the planet Earth, warrior Jake Tierney employs the Rafarian's mitres technology to travel back in time. He hopes to prevent Rafarian Marco McKinley from completing activites that he believes will come to bear heavily on the Rafarian's current circumstances. Little does Jake know before he travels back that the chain of events he seeks to right has already been resolved.
Antousian warrior and Rafarian sympathizer, Scott Dillon, recognizes Jake's Antousian scent and takes him for an enemy. He pursues Jake as he tries make his escape from the Rafarian's camp. In a moment of desperation Jake takes Scott's new lover, the nearly blind FBI agent Hope Harper, as his hostage. A fiery love triangle is born as Hope comes to realize that Jake stirs deep feelings of recognition--and familiarity---in her heart.
Deidre Knight's Midnight Warrior series grows more compelling with each installment. Hope Harper proved a feisty heroine in this installment, and her ability to perform against an increasingly devastating personal disability provided an excellent tool for suspense In Parallel Seduction.
Knight's increasingly vivid depictions of her character's plights, paired with her ability to crawl inside of their heads and hearts provides the reader with a compelling love story filled with unexpected plot turns. Don't miss it.
