This review is from: Paramour (G K Hall Large Print Book Series) (Hardcover)
Paramour tells the tale of a Secret Service agent who carries guilt for decades for his screw up in an attempted assassination of President Ford. He's serving in DC when another agent in the White House is found murdered. Over the course of the book, he follows a woman to Europe who may be the President's mistress. Implausibly he has an affair with the woman AND let's her out of his sight while in Europe. There's a strong finish and the premise is very good, but there are several plot elements in the middle that I found unbelievable. This is in great contrast to all of Petievich's tremendously well done novels about Treasury Agent Charles Carr where the detail and the plotting is spot on. Go read every one of them as they're fantastic and pass this one up. |
