Paranoia: This case is a snug fit, will the plastic "hooks" damage the contact between the ipad aluminum case and glass?

I'm no engineer, but I doubt it. The only way this could happen ( I
believe) is but using the case as "leverage". It would have to be purposeful.

I was careful when I first put the iPad into the case and it was not a problem. Like I mention in my review I first felt like the final edge never quite 'snapped' in place but yet it holds it just fine. I did NOT feel like there was a danger of damage and have not seen any evidence of damage when I pulled the iPad out of the case.

Absolutely not! The leather cases made by Marware WILL, but not this case. I have an iPad 4 and with a full body (back and front), screen protector and just fit very nice. 3 months with this case and absolutely perfect. This case is even thinner than the apple's own.

In my experience the case does not cause any damage where the glass meets the aluminum. It is a snug and secure fit but I have had no problems

Had mine in for almost a year now, taken it in and out a couple times, and no damage whatsoever. The whole backpiece that grabs it is plastic, not nearly hard enough to scratch anything on the iPad. And it isn't so much like any "hooks" sticking in, but the whole plastic side kind of wraps around just enough to clamp it in. The lid that flips over is lined on the inside with what feels like suede, nice and gentle on the glass face.
