Paranoid Android is a great single, but of course when you buy this particular one, you get two great b-sides. Sure, you can get Ok Computer for ... more, but why not get both? This single for "Paranoid Android" has two wonderful other songs on it "A Reminder" and "Melatonin." The really cool part is that you can see that this was the beginning transformation to Kid A, especially in "A Reminder," a smooth drums, guitar, keyboard and tinge of electronica song with Thom's Ok Computer like singing. "Melatonin" is quite short but has a wonderful classical sound, with keyboards opening, and Thom's singing. Very slow and pretty. Not quite like ANY OTHER Radiohead song, and that says a lot. The CD does not run much more than ten minutes, and its not an alternate version of "Paranoid Android," so please be aware of that. Quite good, recommended for all collectors of Radiohead b-sides.

Reminder,

In case anybody is interested, the song "reminder" has a foreign language dubbed onto the beginning of the recording. The language is Czech, and it was recorded on the subway at one of the stops in Prague. The Czech is "Ukoncite vystup a nastup. Dvere se zaviraji." In English it means, "Stop entering and exiting. The doors are closing." Then it says "Pristi stanice" or "Next stop" and it lists one of the stops on the Yellow line. Just another example of the brilliance of Radiohead to pull the overhead announcement from a subway in Eastern Europe and put it on a recording.

A much better cut.,

There is a slight difference between single version and the album version of Paranoid Android. On OK Computer, the track's four beepy note lead-in was attached to the end of Airbag, but it is properly at the beginning of Paranoid Android on the single version.Paranoid Android is an absolutely amazing song, and that strange track cut difference still kinda infuriates me to this day.

This single was pretty good. The b-sides (Melatonin and A Reminder) are reasonably good. My favorite among the two is a reminder, because it truly does represent sounds from both OK computer and Kid A. The reason i gave it four stars instead of five is that, for the price, the single does not contain enough. if melatonin were a bit of a stronger track, it might have been. overall, though, this single is a good purchase, for the bsides. if you just want paranoid android you might as well buy the album.

Paranoid Android: The best song Radiohead ever did, ever. A true epic; the "Stairway to Heaven" of our times. 5/5A Reminder: One of Thom Yorke's best lyrical performances. The song slowly builds up from a tape of people talking in a foreign language and some synths to a HUGE climax. It's very good, but there are some OK Computer B-Sides that are better. 4.5/5 Melatonin: A very short song with nothing but a synth, vocals, and a drumbeat. Nothing all that great. 2/5 Some singles are actually worth their high prices. This one isn't
