Paraplis Umbrella Holder for Wheelchair

What a wonderful item. It is sturdy and really holds a full size umbrella, in place. I attached mine to the handle grip of my medical scooter and now the weather is no problem. I had used a canopy for my scooter. It cost four or five times as much and was so flimsy, that the wind blew it off and broke it. With the umbrella holder, I can adjust the direction of the umbrella to protect me from wind and rain. When I get home, I just take off the umbrella and leave the holder attached.

I've researched several umbrella holders/umbrellas for wheelchairs and this is the best I've seen. It took a bit to find an umbrella that would work for my daughter with the holder, but once we found it (Totes with automatic up & down worked the best and it was small enough that it could be moved out the way easily) she loves it.

The people who price this have no shame. $50 for a bit of plastic and clamps?

What you (and I) want is a "golf cart umbrella holder". Here are some Amazon sells:

They are all under $20 and just as good (or better, since they were made by people who have to compete in a market instead of these scum who prey on a dearth of accessories marketed directly to the disabled).

I used the umbrella holder on my son's wheelchair and it worked very well. It helped keep the sun and rain off of him. It also helped protect me as well.

This umbrella holder worked wonderfully for my mother's wheelchair. Not only does it protect her from the rain, but it also provides shade for her while sitting at the many baseball games her grandson plays. It will definitely get a lot of use.
