Each story has its own flavor and setting. I really liked Work Farm. It reminded me of the original Alien movie. The writing style is descriptive, easy to understand and adds to the overall spine chilling quality of the book.

Some of the stories made me think of Stephen King short stories mixed with science fiction, which may or may not be your taste. I happen to love it. Five stars.

I liked these stories a lot. They were very creepy, and reminded me of the tales from the "pulp era"... 'Weird Tales' magazine, and the 'Tales from the Crypt' comics.

The writing is very sparse. The settings are grim. And I like the way the author sometimes leaves the ending hanging. You know what's about to happen... but he doesn't describe it, so you get to fill it in with your own imagination. And that's sometimes a lot worse than he could describe in words. You get to finish the story from your own fears. [shudder]

I would have given this a five star review, but I docked it one star because of some typos. With a book this short, it wouldn't have been a lot of effort to have someone proofread before publishing.

For a buck 29, you can't go wrong, right? Wrong! These stories were very short, and formatted to leave a lot of clear space on the Kindle screen. I read all the stories within an hour. Did any of the stories lead to speculation? Nope...just disappointment.
