5.0 out of 5 stars THE medication reference for educational personnel & parents, October 24, 1999
This review is from: Parent & Educators' Drug Reference: A Guide to Common Medical Conditions and Drugs Used in School-Aged Children (Paperback)
The utilization of medication in the educational setting continues to reach new heights on a daily basis. If you are a parent of a child who must take medication at school or a school employee who must manage medication for students in school - this book is a MUST! Clearly written in everyday language, the PEDR addresses the most common school age health maladies from ADHD to pain and fever; clearly describes the most common medications used in school settings and the how's, why's and side effects to be alert for with each medication - even addresses drug interactions and herbal preparations commonly seen. As a school health nurse, I can't say enough about how much I have loved this book - but better yet, the unlicensed assistive personnel who give medications in school under my supervision and the parents of my students who take medication at school, have loved it even more...it is written for them but well used by me in educating them all in order to improve the educational opportunities for these children.
