Good advice from this DVD. Good tips and instruction for new and old parents. I practice some of these tips myself and they do wonders with the kids!

Every advice you get when you are a new parent is useful. This video gave me very nice tips and techniques to use with my children. More than I have read in Books so far.

Even though I haven't had any children of my own, I have many opportunities to help other parents, mostly single mothers, with raising their children. In reviewing Jeff's DVD, it allowed me to understand some of the reasons on why a child may misbehave. With this in mind, it allows me to correct the wrongs of my thought process and make better decisions on how to get a child to think about their wrongs and provide positive corrections, which could lead to a more positive response from the children themselves. It may seem basic to some, but sometimes basics is all it takes to get the right reaction from the child.

This is a very informative DVD. Jeff Gazley is able to give parents an explanation of why kids act the way they do when not behaving or listening. He also gives a good explanation of how the parent enables the child and is partly the cause of the noncompliance. Jeff gives great tips on how to understand where your child is coming from and how to give parents the tools to have their children take responsibility for their behavior by giving them natural consequences.

As most parents do, I do my best to parent my children and even though I consider myself to be a great mom by providing for all my childrens needs, I still have room for improvement. This video allows to explain more about how children work and what it takes to create a loving relationship while teaching your child as you see fit. It highlights simple things that I found myself doing and although I thought were innocent, could be contributing to the problem more than helping. By making me stronger as a parent, it will make them stronger for their lives!

If you are looking for a practical guide to better parenting or a self-help DVD for getting your kids to "listen" to you, this is not the one for you.
The content material is good, but not particularly earthshaking, no new ideas here. "Set reasonable limits, set consequences, give one warning, be consistent and don't get emotional." The presentation, however, is so weak and amateurish that it will surely bore to death any young parent with pressing problems. The therapist seems to be speaking, rather unemphatically, to academics not to a parent with a problem. He provides very few examples or practical ideas for action.
The therapist, Jef Gazley, simply sets up his camera, starts recording, steps in front of the camera, and begins lecturing. I think the whole production of this DVD including the planning, the writing, the rehearsals, the staging, the filming, and final editing was all prepared in one afternoon in his office. Many YouTube videos are more professionally produced than this one.

As with all of Jef Gazley's works, this DVD gives practical advice within a framework of child/human development. This helps understand why kids do what they do. The conscious parent can then guide the child's healthy emotional development process while improving unwanted behavior.
