Editorial Reviews

Review

. . . it is academic administrators and colleagues who should read this book as an important step toward changing perceptions and attitudes. Collectively the essays provide many reminders about just how difficult life in the academy can be for anyone who deviates from the masculine "ideal worker" norm.
--The Journal of Higher Education

Bassett's collection effectively conveys the diverse range of experiences throughout the academy. . . . Among other things, the collection makes one reflect anew upon the centuries-long silence of academic fathers on the subject of parenthood, an effective and devastating separation of public and private life.
--Women's Review of Books
