Well organized, some useful information for parents to help their intense teen work through the emotional changes of being a teen. Best part was that it started a discussion with them and how to cope with things. And of course they wanted to read it too.

I read this book after Living with Intensity. It gave further insights into dealing with teens in particular. Much of the information was especially pertinent to homeschooling, although all could benefit from reading this book about gifted teens. I recommend reading this book plus Living with Intensity so you get both a broad overview and age-specific recommendations.

Intensity is the factor people are least equipped to deal with in gifted kids, so it is important for some adult in their lives to understand it. Most teachers, for example, like "smart" but would rather not have the "intensity." Since the two are often a package deal, get some good books on the subject (like this one) and just deal with it!

If you have a gifted kid, or suspected you have one; this is a book you must have. It is pretty accurate for the most part. Again, different kids have different learning styles. Treat this as a guideline, not a 'gifted living bible'.
