My daughter has been wanting a doctor kit since playing with an 20-some year old one of my husband's at her grandmother's house, so her grandmother gave her this one for Christmas. What a disappointment. The toys don't each have their own little niche--they just get thrown in the toolbox-shaped container. The uncomfortable stethescope buds are far too big for her 4-year-old ears, and just play a fake heartbeat sound, rather than actually working like the ones of my generation. The syringe only slides at the very bottom, the beeper does nothing (the buttons are too hard for her to press), the blood pressure cuff's squeeze bulb is too stiff and large for her hand, and the cuff itself is an uncomfortable not-very flexible plastic. The colors are unattractive to her and she can't open or close the stiff, unintuitive clasps of the huge carrying case.

My son received this as a birthday present and loves it. The pager needs batteries (which the previous poster should probably install...it will help it work) The stethoscope actually DOES work beyond the "heartbeat" sound....

My 3 year old gives it two thumbs up!!

A Kid's Review

the kit is the most useless doctors kit EVER. All my son does is use each instrument as a weapon. The scissors, he runs around trying to cut the cats tail off. What idiot came up with the idea to put tweezers in this thing? Now he's figured out how to pinch mommy without using his fingers (also uses these on the poor kitty). The stethoscope. Also a weapon. He wings them around like a pair of nun chucks. The blood pressure cuff, has tried to put the ball part in my husbands mouth. My 3 year old wanted to pretend to be a doctor, instead he pretends to be a mob hit man. He's a few feet and years away from being REALLY good at it. I hope he has not found his calling....
