This review is from: Parents in Love : Reclaiming Intimacy After Your Child Is Born (Paperback)
My husband and I welcomed our daughter into the world 5 weeks ago, and since then we have been having some tension in our relationship. This book was wonderful at putting some of the feelings and frustrations into words and also gave suggestions to remedy those problems. There are simple exercises at the end of each chapter to help reinforce the message of the chapter and to make it more interactive for the reader. It was a short and easy read, and only took me 2.5 hours to finish. I would recommend this book to anyone, male or female, who is feeling tension in their relationship with the arrival of a new baby in their lives.

This book had a few questions at the end of each chapter which helped direct my thinking about my own life and situation, but I didn't really read anything that I didn't already know. Though it did help to remind me of things that were important to remember, like taking care of myself and my marriage is very important to my kids overall well being.

My husband and I welcomed our daughter into our lives 5 weeks ago, and lately we had been having some tension in our relationship. This book did a great job of putting into words some of the feelings and frustrations I was having and gave valuable insight as to what I could do to resolve the problems. It has exercises at the end of each chapter that really helped me to dig deep and figure out what the real problems were. It is a short and easy read, I finished it in about 2.5 hours. I would definately recommend this book to anyone, male or female, who is having difficulty with tension in their relationship after the arrival of a baby. The only thing I didn't like about it was there was one referance to the use of an epidural in one of her chapters, which I don't advocate. But it was a small detail and didn't obscure the overall message of the book.
